okay I am making armor

therefore before I put time and effort into this I need a call on it
I am making a brigandine

is this legit to wear?
if it is then I am making matching vambraces and pauldrons
and think I can mass produce these for our armorless brethren.

It looks hella good Sulla. Double check it by the Manual of Arms....I believe that Kaimetsuo posted the newest rules.

I started on it this evening and have the pattern and plates for it done,have to find some 120 studs for the front before I can start stitching it up,I am hoping the biker/leather store has them here in town otherwise I will get my girlfriend to grab some in the city meh I hope I can get my prototype done fairly quickly biding the studs total make time looks to be about 6 to 10 hours for quality purpose.

I am keeping document as I am making so I can put forth an armor making tutorial with price guide.
I am straying from the picture pattern above slightly to give it a more Romanesque feel.
in the mean time I still have to tweak my shield

armor=finished,build time around 6 hours give or take,worked on it for a little bit each day as I had little free time to commit
get some pictures, pattern diagram,materials and price list up later

okay before I provide instructions I had to solve the thickness issue which I have by layering few days more and complete,should come in at 4/16 thick.

finally done, 6 layers of leather,that's 3 in the front and 3 in the back


well within specs as you can see and not 1 ounce of foam in it although there is probably a pound of rivets and studs



next I will post my patterns

Is that actually cow hide leather? or is it pleather?

it's not pleather,it's apparel grade,I can't wear untreated cowhide,been over this once.

was just wondering had several people asking me about it after roses. and i did not really know.
