Belladonna Hailfrost or "Frost"

Hello to all.
I am extremely new to all of this and have recently been introduced to the wonderful art of Dagorhir by my boyfriend, who happens to live in Tallahassee Florida. He is a member of a sub-unit called Canaur and I have been listening to him and learning from him over the internet for a while. I started to get really interested in it and eventually I got about ten of my friends interested in it as well. We've started a small unit and decided to call it 'Kgnorr'. We're all very new and learning, and all very, very excited. I find Dagorhir to be exhilarating and very passionate. I cannot wait for the day that I can say, "Oh yes, I've played for ___ years!" Because, it is just so very much fun. Even if you're just watching.

We're having our first weapons making session tomorrow, actually, and I've been reading this forum for good advice and decided to join after reading all of the posts that I could. I live in Bessie Oklahoma, and the majority of our unit lives in Cordell. We haven't had a battle yet, but we're all learning and practicing and I am very extremely happy about all of this!

I hope that one day I will be able to meet you all in battle. I am ready to learn the art of Dagorhir, in a way that you all must understand as well.

It's great to see more people getting interested in Dagorhir. I'll be posting an event that's coming up in the next couple of weeks, if you and yours are interested in attending. It's in Edmond, and is hosted by a realm called Alterra. I believe you can find a link to their site on our boards somewhere, as well as on the main Dagorhir site. If not, try this out.

Here in Midgar, we have practices every Sunday from 12-4. That may be changing to 12-3, since the last hour has been ending up a "sit and chill" kind of hour, but not sure yet. Kgnorr looks like it's about 2 hours from Shawnee, where we gather....it'd be a long drive, but you guys are more than welcome to come visit, and we'll try to get out there to visit at some point as well. Money's tight right now, but sometime soon I hope.

You're right, money is incredibly tight as of now, and seeing as we had a failed attempt at a weapons making session yesterday because no matter where we drove Blue Camping foam did not seem to exist. I am ordering it to go to the Walmart in Elk City soon, and then we're going to start practicing every Saturday probably. Once we get our days for practicing up I'll be sure to put it up here. I will probably end up having a lot of questions. Because, like I said, I'm a huge newby, so I tend to make sure I don't do something wrong before I do it.

I've looked on Alterra's site a few times but I'll be sure to do that soon. I'll relay this to the rest of Kgnorr as well, and see if they would be willing to come visit Midgar sometime.. It would be a great learning experience for us.

Bessie pretty much doesn't exist. But it's a good place for fighting, there's a vacant lot in front of my house that gives a lot of space for running and such, and there is also a lot of other places for us to go to fight. It's fun But it does cause a lot of problems when it comes to when we have to go places.

I bet. Jeez...and everyone says that I live in BFE. lol


Anyways, there a couple tutorials on here, as well as a mess of em on the Dagorhir site. There's even a snazzy button on the front page of the Midgar boards, at the top. If nothing else, go here and click on the tutorials link.

Also, lurk on the main Dag boards, which you can find a link to on the main Dag site, under "Bulletin Board". I suggest lurking first before posting anything, mainly because...well, you're new. You're going to have fantastical ideas, as well as the rest of your group, and it's already been done time and time again. Badly. And every time the troll sharks smell new blood, they swarm, dismember, and then...well, it's not pretty.

So yeah, lurk on the Dag boards, post here and on the Alterra boards for friendly info and advice, and you'll be just fine.

To be honest, I didn't even think about reading any of the stuff on the Dag site. Which is odd, because I usually lurk anywhere before I post. (Yes, I creeped on here for a while, making sure I didn't make a COMPLETE fool of myself when I got on) I will have to do some lurking there as well. I have good references and I have about thirty friends in Florida (where my boyfriend lives) that I can ask questions about too.

I just want to thank you all for the help. I feel a lot more welcome and I'm not as scared to ask questions.
